JustRite Friday Challenge #86

It's a color challenge this week over at JustRite Friday Challenge and it's based on a peacock feather... hence the title

This is what a came up with using papers from DCWV: Taj Mahal Stack

The stamp is from "Summer Words" set by JustRite and then I used white heat embossing powder.  I also used 6 Spellbinders die cuts

Supplies used:
Card size - 4.75" x 4"
Papers - DCWV
Fiskars - corner punch
JustRite - stamp
Spellbinder - rectangles and flourish

Also made for sketch 4 of RAQ's 11-21 Card Sketch Challenge

A Card for Sandy...

I made this card for my awesome sweet friend Sandy.  It's based on her original My Sheri Craft Design Team blog designed by Sheri Holt.  It was all pink and lots of flowers and I even found the exact font she used

This was the first card I've ever made using just a Spellbinder die cut as the shape of the card.  I used Adobe Photoshop to create the sentiment

Supplies used:
Adobe Photoshop
Cheery Lynn - flourish
Spellbinders - rectangles

Card Sketch Challenge: 11-21 (sketch 1)

This week's challenge included 2 extra credits... one to make a guy card and the other to make a Christmas card.  I used sketch 1 to make my guy card and I have no idea who I am going to give this to just yet

Supplies used:
Card size -5.5" x 4.25"
Papers - DCWV
Design Studio
"Happy" is a stamp
Cricut cartridge: Fabulous Finds - oval
Cricut cartridge: Simply Sweet - sentiment
Cricut cartridge: Wild Card - maroon frame and coils

Made for sketch 1 of RAQ's 11-21 Card Sketch Challenge

Card Sketch Challege: 11-14 (extra credit)

This week's challenge included a tag for an extra credit and I wanted to follow the sketch but not exactly.  I found this shaped tag from Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More and definitely wanted to use it.  The "Happy Christmas" is from Wild Card and I used hot pink heat embossing powder.  Although it doesn't show in the picture... it's the exact match to the hot pink dots on the paper

Supplies used:
Card size -3.25" x 5.5"
Papers - JoAnn
Design Studio
Fiskars - border punch
Stickles
Cricut cartridge: Tags, Bags, Boxes & More - tag
Cricut cartridge: Wild Card - "Happy Christmas"

Made for extra credit of RAQ's 11-14 Card Sketch Challenge

My Sheri Crafts #99

This week's theme over at My Sheri Crafts is to create any project that shows how you celebrate the holidays during this time of the year

I found some Post-It Notes on clearance a few months ago with Christmas themes.  I had intended to make covers for them when I bought it.  Well, why not now?

Each notepad measures at 3"  in diameter.  I used Design Studio to weld two pieces of circle to a narrow strip of .25" rectangle to adjust for the thickness of the notepad.  I connected the base of the front cover with a flower cut from Sweet Treats cartridge then used two Spellbinders scalloped circle.  I used a circle punch to cut the image from each of the notepad as an accent... and of course... a bit of feather to finish it off

Now... it's your turn to create something spectacular and join us over at  My Sheri Crafts

Supplies used:

Design Studio
Fiskars - snowflake punch
Spellbinder - scalloped circles
Cricut cartridge: Sweet Treats

Card Sketch Challenge: 11-7 (sketch 2)

This is for my good friends, Ken and Sylvia.  They are getting married on December 12th of this year... which just happens to be my anniversary as well!  Hee hee

I tried using a technique I've seen before but never actually done... sandpaper.  I embossed the 3 panels and the sentiment then used sandpaper to distress the paper over the embossing... it's a neat effect and I'll probably do it again in the future.  It's just super messy!

The stick pins were some heart pins I bought that was on clearance.  I added the beads to dress them up a bit more... I used super glue to make sure the beads didn't fall off

Supplies used:
Card size - 5.5" x 8.5"
Papers - Close to My Heart and DCWV
Cuttlebug - embossing
Cricut cartridge: Stamping
ek success - border punch
Fiskars - corner punch

Made for sketch 2 of RAQ's 11-7 Card Sketch Challenge

Card Sketch Challenge: 11-7 (sketch 1)

I decided to let the paper do most of the job for this card.  The paper is from JoAnn and the sentiments were already printed on them, so why not?

This is also the first time I'm using the Cricut Gel Pens... they pretty much write like a ball point pen and also acts like it.  Sometimes, the ink doesn't come out.

Supplies used:
Card size - 4.25" x 5.5"
Papers - JoAnn
Close to My Heart - Liquid Glass
Cuttlebug - embossing
Cricut cartridge: Home Accents - snowflake
Cricut gel pen
ek success - border punch
Spellbinder - scalloped circle

My Sheri Crafts #98

The current theme over at My Sheri Crafts is to make any project that shows "thanks" to honor the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday

I have decided to make a Thanksgiving banner to display at my home

Each section of the banner measures at 4.25" x 5.5" ... it was more efficient to cut up a piece of 8.5" x 11" cardstock into exactly four pieces.  I also used a thicker cardboard cardstock underneath each panel to make it more durable.  The font is "Rockwell Extra Bold" and I used SCAL to create it and cut it with my Cricut.  I decided to use the pilgrims at the end panels and those are from the Thanskgiving Cricut cartridge.  All the large flowers were something I've had that's been hanging around for a long time.  The smaller flowers were originally white and I used alcohol inks to dye them to match the colors of the papers from the upper part of each panel

The papers are from the "Grace" paper pack by Close to My Heart.  It's hard to see or read it but the background paper for most of the panels are printed words repeating the definition of words such as thankful, grateful, family, friends, and other words

Now, I wonder if Sheri or Peachy will notice that these large flowers are from the same batch of flowers I used in my last MSC Fall project ages ago... heee heee

Now... it's your turn to create something spectacular and join us over at  My Sheri Crafts

Supplies used:
Large flowers are store bought, they came in a bouqet
Small flowers are from $1 bin at Michael's Crafts

Eyelets
Liquid Pearls
