Happy Birthday America!

The current theme over at My Sheri Crafts is to make birthday cards.  I wanted to dedicate this particular theme to the youngest people in my life


  For my cousin's daughter, Emma... turning 1 on July 14

  For my friend's daughter, Aliza... turning 2 on December 19

 

For my niece, Emily... turning 3 on December 5

 

For my friend's son, DJ... turning 4 on September 30

 


... and for my son, Dax... turning 5 on August 1

My inspiration to create all the numbered birthday cards was from a previous shaped card I had made for a friend's son

Father's Day

It's time to make projects for Father's Day over at My Sheri Crafts.. with some embossing!

 

  

For this project, instead of a card... I made a little booklet!  Each page features each of our children.  I wanted to keep it fairly simple so that each could personalize their section with stickers, drawings, notes... whatever they can think of

 

The images are a bit blurry since they were taken with the iPad and I just take poor pictures in general.  The embossing is a bit hard to see but they appear on the "#1" and each of the letters on "DAD"

My Sheri Crafts #110

Flower Power!

The theme this time around at My Sheri Crafts is to create any project featuring 3 dimensional flowers

For this project, I knew I wanted to make a wreath.  I bought one of the Spring wreaths Michael's Crafts was selling for 40% off and ripped it apart... well ripped off all the flowers (hot pink and purple daisies) and greenery off of the wreath.  I kept some of the greenery which had purple flowers attached to them (took all those off too)!  The flowers are rolled up flowers cut from Cricut cartridge: Artiste and inked at the edges.  I also sprayed them with home made glimmer mist but you really can't tell that there's any shine or glimmer to these flowers.  Oh well!

My Sheri Crafts #108

Arbor Day

Arbor Day (from the Latin arbor, meaning tree) is a holiday in which individuals and groups are encouraged to plant and care for trees.

That is exactly what we are doing at My Sheri Crafts... create any project that helps celebrate this day

For this project, I wanted to attempt something I haven't done.  I cut out a tree using Cricut cartridge: Pagoda to make the stencil of this tree then used embossing powder to cover it all up and applied heat.  The "celebrate" is also cut from Pagoda.  The beads are from my stash that's been there untouched for ages and the strings are DMC cross-stitching floss
