My Sheri Crafts #100
It's that busy time at the end of the year... Christmas season! This week's theme over at My Sheri Crafts is to decorate any packages, bags, or tags for Christmas
I decided to make gift card holders / tags that I can hang up on the tree. I'm using non-traditional Christmas colors for my tags because I wanted to use up these coordinating papers from JoAnn's Peppermint Forest paper stack that I got last year
Each tag was made using a Spellbinder die big enough to cover the gift card holder in the back. The gift card holder is from the Cricut cartridge: Bags, Tags, Boxes, & More. I left it quite simple in the back and the white envelop is where I plan to write a little message to the recipient
Now... it's your turn to create something spectacular and join us over at My Sheri Crafts
Supplies used:
Papers - Jo-Ann Peppermint Forest stack
Sentiment on third tag is a stamp and colored with glitter gel pen
Close to My Heart - liquid glass on the dots on third tag
Design Studio
Darice - embossing folder
Fiskars - border punch on the first tag
Sizzix - flourish
Spellbinder - tag frames and large flower
Cricut cartridge: Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More

For my niece, Emily's 2nd birthday... I made a tag to hold her gift card. Her parents gave her the iPad so we gave her an iTunes gift card
I didn't feel comfortable just handing her a "gift card" so I tied it up to a Webkinz puppy
Supplies used:
Design Studio
Spellbinder - tag
Fiskars - scalloped circle
Cricut Gel Pens
Cricut cartridge: Celebrations - "2"
Cricut cartridge: Simply Sweet - stitched circle and "Emily"
Cricut cartridge: Sweet Treats - "happy birthday"

I made two versions of sketch 2 for this challenge. They were originally going to be almost identical but my Cricut was acting up and decided to fail on cutting the snowflakes neatly. I salvaged one and on the other card, I used Spellbinders instead
On this salvaged snowflake cut, I covered it with glitter to hide all the jagged areas and make it a neater looking cut

Card size - 4.25" x 5.5"
Papers - JoAnn's

A Card for Sandy...
I made this card for my awesome sweet friend Sandy. It's based on her original My Sheri Craft Design Team blog designed by Sheri Holt. It was all pink and lots of flowers and I even found the exact font she used
This was the first card I've ever made using just a Spellbinder die cut as the shape of the card. I used Adobe Photoshop to create the sentiment
Supplies used:
Adobe Photoshop
Cheery Lynn - flourish
Spellbinders - rectangles

My Sheri Crafts #99
This week's theme over at My Sheri Crafts is to create any project that shows how you celebrate the holidays during this time of the year
I found some Post-It Notes on clearance a few months ago with Christmas themes. I had intended to make covers for them when I bought it. Well, why not now?
Each notepad measures at 3" in diameter. I used Design Studio to weld two pieces of circle to a narrow strip of .25" rectangle to adjust for the thickness of the notepad. I connected the base of the front cover with a flower cut from Sweet Treats cartridge then used two Spellbinders scalloped circle. I used a circle punch to cut the image from each of the notepad as an accent... and of course... a bit of feather to finish it off
Now... it's your turn to create something spectacular and join us over at My Sheri Crafts
Supplies used:
Design Studio
Fiskars - snowflake punch
Spellbinder - scalloped circles
Cricut cartridge: Sweet Treats

This is for my good friends, Ken and Sylvia. They are getting married on December 12th of this year... which just happens to be my anniversary as well! Hee hee
I tried using a technique I've seen before but never actually done... sandpaper. I embossed the 3 panels and the sentiment then used sandpaper to distress the paper over the embossing... it's a neat effect and I'll probably do it again in the future. It's just super messy!
The stick pins were some heart pins I bought that was on clearance. I added the beads to dress them up a bit more... I used super glue to make sure the beads didn't fall off
Supplies used:
Card size - 5.5" x 8.5"
Papers - Close to My Heart and DCWV
Cuttlebug - embossing
Cricut cartridge: Stamping
ek success - border punch
Fiskars - corner punch
Made for sketch 2 of RAQ's 11-7 Card Sketch Challenge

I decided to let the paper do most of the job for this card. The paper is from JoAnn and the sentiments were already printed on them, so why not?
This is also the first time I'm using the Cricut Gel Pens... they pretty much write like a ball point pen and also acts like it. Sometimes, the ink doesn't come out.
Supplies used:
Card size - 4.25" x 5.5"
Papers - JoAnn
Close to My Heart - Liquid Glass
Cuttlebug - embossing

My Sheri Crafts #98
The current theme over at My Sheri Crafts is to make any project that shows "thanks" to honor the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday
I have decided to make a Thanksgiving banner to display at my home
Each section of the banner measures at 4.25" x 5.5" ... it was more efficient to cut up a piece of 8.5" x 11" cardstock into exactly four pieces. I also used a thicker cardboard cardstock underneath each panel to make it more durable. The font is "Rockwell Extra Bold" and I used SCAL to create it and cut it with my Cricut. I decided to use the pilgrims at the end panels and those are from the Thanskgiving Cricut cartridge. All the large flowers were something I've had that's been hanging around for a long time. The smaller flowers were originally white and I used alcohol inks to dye them to match the colors of the papers from the upper part of each panel
The papers are from the "Grace" paper pack by Close to My Heart. It's hard to see or read it but the background paper for most of the panels are printed words repeating the definition of words such as thankful, grateful, family, friends, and other words
Now, I wonder if Sheri or Peachy will notice that these large flowers are from the same batch of flowers I used in my last MSC Fall project ages ago... heee heee
Now... it's your turn to create something spectacular and join us over at My Sheri Crafts
Supplies used:
Large flowers are store bought, they came in a bouqet
Small flowers are from $1 bin at Michael's Crafts
Alcohol inks
Eyelets
Liquid Pearls
Close to My Heart - papers
Fiskars - corner punch
SCAL - for "GIVE THANKS" using Rockwell Extra Bold font
Spellbinder - labels seventeen
Cricut cartridge: George and Basic Shapes - ovals
Cricut cartridge: Thanksgiving - pilgrims
