Digi Desserts Fridaze (Jan 25)

This week's freebie digi image from Digi Desserts Fridaze is a heart with the words "Love You" right on it.  I suppose it's time to start making Valentine's Day cards so I also decided to use another image from them using the bear sitting on a piece of candy

I printed out two copies of the heart so I can cut out one and pop it up on top of the other.  I used Stickles to outline the bottom edge of the heart.  The bear is also cut out and reinforced with a heavier cardstock.  Both images were colored with Copics but the candy is covered with a thin layer of Crackle Accent because I wanted to get that effect of looking like it was cellophane and added red Stickles for the stripes.  The "XOXO" is from Wild Card cartridge and I it's "drawn" right on the banner and I colored it with glitter gel pen.  I also used Liquid Glass for the bear's eyes

Card size: 4.25" x 4.25"

Supplies:
Papers - DCWV
Digis by Paper Crafting World
Design Studio
Copics
Crackle Accent
Fiskars - flower punch
Glitter gel pens
Liquid Glass
QuicKutz Silhouette pens
Spellbinder
Stickles
Cricut cartridge: Wedding - banner
Cricut cartridge: Wild Card - "XOXO"

Jingle Belles - January 18th

Scandinavian Christmas

Jingle Belles has an interesting theme this week... Scandinavian Christmas... and we are provided with an inspirational picture using Red, White, & Jul.  Uh... ok... what is Jul?  Must be an inside joke among the DT?  LOL... ok anyway... here is my take on their challenge

I used Martha Stewart double-sided paper for the red and then used Darice embossing folders for both the top and bottom part of the card.  I decided to cover the embossed swirls and dots with Liquid Glass... that took forever!  The sentiment was "drawn" right on the paper using my Cricut Gel Pens and using the Wild Card cartridge.  The snowflakes came from Art Philosophy cartridge then I sprinkled them with glitter after they went through the good old reliable Xyron

Card size: 4.25" x 5.5"

Supplies:
Papers - Martha Stewart
Darice embossing folders
Liquid Glass
Xyron
Cricut cartridge: Art Philosophy - snowflakes
Cricut cartridge: Tags, Bags, Boxes, & More - tag
Cricut cartridge: Wild Card - "Merry Christmas"

JustRite Friday Challenge #88

JustRite Friday Challenge has a sketch challenge this time around.  We didn't have to follow the sketch exactly but as long as it looked like it was inspired by the sketch, it was allowed

Here is my version of their sketch challenge...

The stamp is from "Summer Words" set by JustRite and the frames and flourish are Spellbinders.  Staying as close to the sketch as possible, I used the diamond cut background from Cricut Wild Card cartridge.  The flowers are 5 layers of Fiskars flower punch made into roses and the lace trims were given to me by a My Sheri Crafts Design Team sister, Charlotte

Supplies used:
Card size - 4.25" x 5.5"
Papers - Close to My Heart
Fiskars - flower punch
JustRite - stamp
Spellbinder - frames and flourish
Cricut cartridge: Wild Card - diamond background

Digi Desserts Fridaze (Jan 18)

This week's freebie digi image from Paper Crafting World is a cupcake!  So, of course I had to make a birthday card and enter it for their current challenge at Digi Desserts Fridaze

I used Adobe Photoshop to make the cupcake a little wider then used a Spellbinder frame after printing out the image.  Colored it with Copics then added a little glitter glue to the cupcake wrapping and used liquid pearls for the sprinkles.  The flowers are 5 layers of Fiskar flower punch, the flourish is from Cheery Lynn.  The "Happy Birthday" was computer generated

I chose these particular colors because they are the current Ad color challenge for RAQ's Card Sketch Challenge

Card size: 4.25" x 4.25"

Papers - Recollections
Digi by Paper Crafting World
Adobe Photoshop
Cheery Lynn - flourish

My Sheri Crafts #102

Got Snow?

Our theme this week over at My Sheri Crafts is to create any project that includes a snowman figure

I decided to decorate one of my many left over disposable cups I bought from Sam's Club.  Yeah... a ton of left overs that didn't get used up for the holidays.  Well why not?  I love the colors on it so I thought it would make a great background

I basically used up what I had around the house for this project.  The hot chocolate mix, the chocolate chips, and marshmallows were all from the cupboard!  Shhhh!  I used a Wilton's cake decorating bag to make the hot chocolate mix!  No one can tell from the picture so it will be our little secret.

I downloaded this cute snowman image from Christmas Coloring Pages and colored it with Copics... I tried to get the same colors as the background on the cup as close as I can.  I used glitter glue Stickles for his buttons

For the label... a stamp and heat embossed!  I used a Spellbinder for the frame and the flourish and lots of clear tiny skittles stuck all over the cup

Thanks for looking!

Now... it's your turn to create something spectacular and join us over at  My Sheri Crafts

Supplies used:
Papers - Recollections
Copics
Heat Embossing Powder

Digi Desserts Fridaze (Jan 11)

I downloaded this week's freebie digi image from Paper Crafting World to make this card and also to enter it for their current challenge at Digi Desserts Fridaze.  It's a fairly simple card but I wanted the snowman paper to do most of the work

I printed out two copies of the image so I can cut out the mittens and pop it up for some dimension.  I used Adobe Photoshop to fill in the colors... I didn't have much time to work on this card but I wanted to complete it, so no Copics this time

Also entered for Jingle Belles - January 1st

Card size: 5.5" x 4.25"

Papers - DCWV
Digi by Paper Crafting World
Adobe Photoshop
Spellbinder - circle and scalloped circle

Digi Desserts Fridaze (Jan 4)

I needed to make a sympathy card (don't really like making these), I needed to make at least one card for the current card sketch challenge, and I also wanted to support a friend that recently made the Design Team for Digi Desserts Fridaze over at Paper Crafting World.  She called me up and said "download the free digis and come join us!"

Here's the card I made for the challenge.  I downloaded the free image but I altered it using Adobe Photoshop because I wanted to use the sympathy stamp I had

Papers - Close to My Heart
Digi by Paper Crafting World
Copics
Liquid Pearls
Sentiment is a stamp
Spellbinder - scalloped circles and leaves

My Sheri Crafts #101

Welcome to 2013!  We are kicking off the new year with an ALL Sport theme over at My Sheri Crafts to celebrate and recognize the athletes in our lives

For the last couple of years, my hubby has been joining Disney's annual marathons.  He's done the 1/2 marathon for 2 years including last year which was Donald's 15th year anniversary 13.1 miles marathon event.  This year will be Mickey's 20th anniversary for the 26.2 miles marathon event.

I plan to give him this card when he crosses the finish line... it will be his first FULL marathon run

I decided to use a double step card template to create this card.  I found the image of the marathon runners in the background and printed it out on photo paper.  The silhouette of the runner and the 20th anniversary Mickey logo were also downloaded online.  I cut the silhouette with SCAL.  I used the template I found for the Double side step card from Kimbee's Creations

Now... it's your turn to create something spectacular and join us over at  My Sheri Crafts

Card size: 8.5"  x 5.5

Supplies used:
Papers - Generations
Design Studio
SCAL - "FINISH"
Spellbinder - circle
Stamp - "Congratulations"
Cricut cartridge: Wild Card - "You did it!"

For Sylvia's bridal shower...

I had to make a few of these for my friend, Sylvia's bridal shower.  I had asked her what the wedding colors were and she said "purple and silver" so I designed these to match her colors.  Inside each purse, holds three Hershey's Kisses.  A silver (milk chocoloate), a purple (dark chocolate), and one wrapped in silver and brown swirl (white / milk chocolate swirl)

Supplies:
ek success - leaves
Fiskars scalloped punch
Sentiments are computer generated
Sizzix - flourish
Cricut cartridge: Forever Young - purse

2012 Christmas Rush Cards

For some reason... I never seem to make enough Christmas cards and always have to end up making more.  Here are some "rush cards" I had to make

These last two sets, were made for my daughter's teachers, so I didn't have to mail these out

All cards were made using Recollections pre-made Christmas blank notecards.  I just used the papers and remounted them on blank white cardstock.  The sentiment are stamps except for the last two sets, they are computer generated

Supplies:
Card sizes - 5.5" x 4.25"
Papers - Recollections
Fiskars punch
Liquid Pearl
Spellbinders
