My Sheri Crafts #90

We have a YUMMY theme over at My Sheri Crafts this time around!  Ice cream, ice cream, and yet more ice cream!  You got it!  Use ice cream on your project to celebrate July's National Ice Cream Month

I wasn't exactly sure what to do for my project except I was absolutely sure, I didn't want to make a traditional card.  At first, I was going to make a word book.  So, this is what I ended up making... a hybrid of a birthday card / mini book.  As you turn the page... a scoop of ice cream also disappears.  I should have made four pages so the last page would leave you with just the cone.  Oh well!  Next time.

I had a great time creating this in Design Studio... lots of welding.  I also had to use SCAL to create some of the shadowing for the lettering since the original is too thin or just didn't exist

... lots of embossing and inking and glitter as well.  What a messy project but well worth it

Now let's see what you come up with!  Come join us at My Sheri Crafts with your ice cream projects

Card Sketch Challenge: 7-11 (sketch 3)

Here's another card I made to submit in My Sheri Crafts for the "Picture This!" theme

I sewed the sides of the pocket with cross-stitching floss.  The pocket was originally white but once I put the tag inside... it didn't look very good, so I distressed the pocket with pink carefully avoiding the floss.

I made the flowers from flower punches... 5 layers each

For this week's extra credit challenge... we were supposed to make a card that represents the Olympic games over at London.  This is what I came up with.  I made it for my mother who enjoys watching the Olympic games

My Sheri Crafts #89

Here is a very simple card I made for My Sheri Crafts.  We were asked to create any project based on the image shown below.  The first thing I thought of was a picnic when I saw the traditional red and white picnic blanket (although I think that's actually a cloth lined tray).  The second thing I thought of was this week's host for this theme, Sandy Palmer.  She lives many states away from me but she's been a really great friend and an awesome Design Team... teammate!  We talk often and I wish she lived closer so we could craft together.  So... needless to say, the sentiment I used was because I was thinking of her and the simple card... tattered in some edges were inspired by the picnic theme (well, at least I think of tattered things when it comes to picnics).

Ok, now it's your turn!  Come join us at My Sheri Crafts and share what you come up with using the image above
  • Card size - 5.25" x 4.25"
