Card Sketch Challenge: 6-27 (sketch 2)

I was determined to use a Cricut cut I've never used before so this is what I chose... yeah ok, so the beehive is reversed.  I know the base is supposed to be yellow and the lines are supposed to be black, but I already cut it and already adhered glitter to it so I wasn't going to start over... so nyah!

The flowers were the first rosettes I made using a mini flower punch... I just never used them until now.  Each has 5 layers and I painted them with glitter.  The bee button I've had for a long time.  I covered it with liquid glass to make it all shiny.  All the papers are from scraps... the background paper is actually from a Halloween paper pack... shhh!

  • Card size - 4.25"  x 5.5"
  • Papers - Miss Elizabeth
  • Fiskars - mini flower punch
  • Sizzix - leaves
  • Spellbinder - oval frame
  • Cricut cartridge: Sentimentals - beehive and sentiment

JustRite Friday Challenge #76

This week's theme at JustRite Friday Challenge is to create a project using stars and stripes but not necessarily a patriotic theme.  Well, how about a Christmas theme?

Using only scraps and left over embellishments... I made another Christmas card to add to my stash.  The stars are actually charms and I cut off the connectors.  Three stacks of Spellbinder frames and I used heat embossing for the sentiment.  The sentiment is from the Whimsical Christmas Set collection by JustRite stamps.  I can no longer find this stamp set on their website to link it.  Maybe it's retired?

  • Card size - 5.5" x 4.25"
  • Papers - JoAnn's
  • JustRite - stamped sentiment and heat embossed
  • Spellbinder - scalloped circle and circle frames

My Sheri Crafts #88

It's time for some red, white, and blue over at My Sheri Crafts.  That's right!  This week's theme is all about some patriotic fun!  Make a project using red, white, and blue showing off some patriotism

For my project, I made a star-shaped wreath.  Ok, it's not a wreath... we'll call it a door hanging welcome sign of some sort.  All the cuts are from the Don Juan Cricut cartridge and each of the blue and silver letters were heat embossed individually (yeah... time consuming and MESSY!).  The star is a metal frame I got from Michael's wrapped in some red tinsel with silver stars... alright, they're not really silver stars... they have 6 points!  I think the red tinsel garland is actually some left over Christmas item because the silver stars look more like weird looking snowflakes but shhhhh... no one can tell right?

Now let's see what you come up with!  Come join us at My Sheri Crafts with your patriotic projects
  • Star-shaped metal frame
  • Red tinsel garland
  • Nylon thread to connect the message to the frame
  • Heat embossing for the blue and silver lettering
  • Sure Cuts A Lot - white shadow lettering
  • Design Studio
  • Cricut cartridge: Don Juan - all the lettering

JustRite Friday Challenge #74

This week's theme at JustRite Friday Challenge is to create a Vintage Masculine card... no idea how to make vintage cards since that's just not my thing.  I prefer bright vibrant cards with cupcakes on them!  LOL!  However, to support my friend, Sheri... I attempted to make one.

I wanted to make something that looked sort of old but also combine it with crisp clean embellishments.  That is the reason for all the black embellishments... they're sharp and clean looking and hopefully help the viewer focus on it more than the old crumpled paper.  Heee heee!  The sentiment "You are the Best" is from the Summer Words - Clear collection by JustRite stamps.
  • Card size - 4.25" x 5.5"
  • Papers - DCWV
  • JustRite - stamped sentiment
  • Close to My Heart - black brads
  • Crop-A-Dile - for the eyelets
  • Tim Holtz distressing inks
